All retin-a users?? Help?

Ok well I went to my derm Monday for acne and she prescribed me retin-a micro. I recently had a bad breakout and that's why I went. I have never had acne before about 2 weeks ago when I broke out and it's pretty mild it's really just on my forehead and cheeks. Well about a week ago I started using clearasil with 2% salicylic acid in it and I think that made my acne worse and my mom said it's just bringing all that nasty stuff up to the surface. So if I use retin-a micro will I still have an initial breakout since I already had one for the clearasil?
