What are the charges for having an airsoft rifle and 16 ecstasy pills?

My friend got caught with an airsoft rifle in the back of his trunk, and cops searched his car and found 16 pure ecstacy pills about 150mg each. He's a minor, they charged him a misdemeanor for possession of the airsoft rifle and a felony for trafficking drugs because cops got a hold of his phone and found out that he sold. So can anyone knowledgable about this please let me know what he can do and what his penalty will be.
